Red Kite Code was asked to create a website for a talented lifestyle guru. The owner already had a lot of content such as recipes and photos that would need moving to the new site. The aim was not only to share the content, but to ensure it looks as delicious on the website as it does in real life.
The brief was as follows
- Choose a design that looks natural and organic.
- Move all of the current content into this new website design.
- Add extensive blog capabilities, allowing the owner to add more recipes at will.
- Add a shop to enable the sale of consultancy packages.
The website owner would like to be able to update their products and make blog posts in the future. For this reason, we chose WordPress. All of the content was collected and formatted for the new site. The payment platform was set up to take credit card payments and a pop up promoting a subscription newsletter was also added. With all of the content, this made the website quite large.
Red Kite Code was given access to the user's hosting account. We then installed WordPress for and began configuring the site ready for the content. We enabled the required plugins and sought any updates that were needed. E-mailers were set up to work with an existing e-mail address, google analytics and widgets such as google maps were generated API keys ready to work. The payment platform was configured and tested and the site was given an SSL certificate to end to end encryption of user interactions.
