Overview

Red Kite Code was commissioned by graphic design agency, Langley Creative to build the site for their client Roman Supplies. Langley Creative supplied all of the images and content. We then assembled the site.

The brief was as follows

  1. Use the existing domain name and hosting
  2. Build the site to exact specifications from design illustrations
  3. The site must have a CMS for the end client
  4. The site will need eCommerce at a later date, so build with this in mind

Solution

Because of the requirement for the end client to be able to add blog posts and alter the content themselves, we chose to use WordPress. The end client was already familiar with how to use this and comfortable with the UI. Langley Creative then provided the site assets and content. Some of this strayed away from the chosen template and so some bespoke coding was required to get the desired look on all pages.

The Process

Red Kite Code was given access to the user's hosting account. We then installed Wordpress for them. Next we installed the base template and began configuring it ready for the content. We enabled the required pluggins and sought any updates that were needed. E-mailers were set up to work with an existing e-mail address and widgets such as google maps were generated API keys ready to work.

Future Proofing

This website will at a later date require eCommerce, to allow customers to buy directly from the site. This is all currently disabled, but the site was built with this future need in mind.

Testimonial

My client is delighted with their new website. Thanks very much!
